Botox is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crow's feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. Botox blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily relaxing the underlying muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies also suggest that Botox is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.
Botox Cosmetic is a quick and minimally invasive treatment. Your surgeon makes a few tiny injections into the muscles that cause moderate to severe frown lines. No anesthesia is required, although your surgeon may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. The entire procedure takes approximately ten minutes. Discomfort is minimal and brief. You may resume normal activity immediately. There is no recovery or downtime and you can expect to see results within days after your treatment. Results last up to four months, although individual results may vary.
MicroDermabrasion is a technique for removing the topmost layer of skin leaving it supple and vibrant. The DiamondTome Wand® removes this layer of skin by gently exfoliating the skin with natural diamond chips, while at the same time vacuuming the dead skin cells away in a sterile and controlled manner. Removing this outer layer of dead skin cells leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.
Resurfacing is a wonderful, non-invasive, non-surgical treatment which requires no down time. Treatments are usually 15 to 30 minutes in length, and normal activities may be resumed immediately. Your skin will have a radiant glow, free of irritation and loose particles. Patients experience softer, smoother and cleaner skin after the first treatment. Healthy skin has an abundance of two important substances, collagen and hyaluronic acid, that keep your skin looking smooth and supple. Collagen is a protein that provides your skin with structural support. Hyaluronic acid is a natural sugar found in all living cells that attracts and binds water, hydrating your skin and giving it volume. With time, sunlight and other factors, collagen and hyaluronic acid in your skin diminish, the skin loses structure and volume, and unwelcome lines and wrinkles appear. Now you can replace your skin's hyaluronic acid and collagen with dermal fillers.
Dermal Fillers provide immediate, natural-looking results and are a new tool that plastic surgeons are using to replace collagen injections. Dermal fillers, such as Restylane® and Juvederm®, are better tolerated by the tissue and help volumize the face. Treatment and recovery usually take as little as one hour and no pre-treatment skin test is required. These treatments can be used to fill in smile lines between the nose and mouth, small lines above the lip, frown lines between the eyes, and to minimize the creases that turn down the corners of the mouth. Dermal fillers present immediate results and can last up to four months, although individual results may vary.
